This year, we decided to go to Christmas Eve mass at Sacred Heart church. This was our first time seeing the church in person. I guess I'm not good at judging the size of buildings because I was pleasantly surprised at how cute and small the church is. Based on the photos I had seen, I was expecting it to be a little bigger. But like I said, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. The inside is gorgeous, with its koa pews and beautiful stained glass windows. I am so happy and excited that we have chosen this church for our ceremony. I also learned that the church is on the state and national registers of historic places. SO COOL! This church may be historic, but it definitely keeps up with the times, as they have projectors so that they can project the words of the songs and prayers. For the first time, probably ever, I could easily follow along with the service. This was especially nice during the mass we attended because the priest had a really thick Filipino accent and I could barely understand him.

The photo above is from a mini photo shoot that my sister did for us at Maunalua Bay. As we were going through photos of us over the years, it became clear that we needed some updated photos and most importantly, photos in which we were not wearing sunglasses. We have several photos from this shoot that we will most likely use for our Save the Dates. For that reason, I am only sharing this photo now and you'll have to wait to see the rest. :)

As we were driving P to the airport, we spotted this beautiful, vibrant rainbow. If you look closely, you can see a faint second rainbow to the left of the bold one. Yes, we saw a DOUBLE rainbow!!! It was a great way to end a wonderful Christmas vacation with P and it must be a sign of the amazing things we have to look forward to as the new year approaches.
We wish you a happy and healthy 2012! And as we say here on the islands: Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
